By far the most popular uses for QR codes are to get a coupon, and to access additional information. Nearly one quarter of smartphone users have scanned QR codes to make purchases online (23%), interact with social channels (23%), and access video content (24%).
So what? Well, if you are thinking of using a QR code in a Marketing campaign, this research should help when you’re deciding what your call to action is. To be sure of getting the best possible response rate, base your campaign around the top two uses above, and whatever you do, make sure your landing page, whether it be a coupon or an information page, is mobile friendly or all your hard work will be undone.
